1. Name of project
Satama-Sokoura road.
2. Description of project
The project involves upgrading and asphalting 133km of the Satama Sokoura – Sandégué Road. This road forms part of the Bouaké – Bassawa – Sandégué – Tanda road, which links Liberia to Ghana.
The majority of the road will remain as single carriageway within the existing right of way, with some crossings of the road being upgraded to a two-lane carriageway. Additional infrastructure will include new pavements, parking and rest areas, intersections, and bus shelters.
3. Location of project
The project runs in east of Côte d’Ivoire and covers the departments of Dabakala, Prikro and Sandégué.
4. Source of environmental information
An Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) complemented by the non-technical summary (NTS) has been developed for the project.
