1. Name of project
Rehabilitation of Three Roads, Zanzibar
2. Description of project
The project is the design and rehabilitation / construction of three roads in Zanzibar, Tanzania:
- Fumba to Kisauni Road (12km)
- Tunguu to Makunduchi (48km)
- Mkoani to Chake Chake Road (43.5km)
The Mkoani to Chake road alignment also consists of a spur road (5km) that provides linkage to Pemba Airport.
The project will largely rehabilitate existing roads, but new road sections will also be established.
Land take will be required for the new road sections and to expand two lane roads into four lanes.
The rehabilitation of the roads is designed to help increase road safety and travel times and stimulate economic development.

Unguja Island and Pemba Island, Zanzibar, Tanzania.
