The request concerns practical driving tests taken at the new Southend (Tickfield Centre), old Southend (Prittlewell Chase) and Basildon (Paycocke Road) test centres.
1. Request 1
How many candidates have taken more than 10 attempts to pass their practical driving test at Southend (Prittlewell Chase), Southend (Tickfied Centre) and Basildon since 2004 and up to the most recent records you hold.

The table below shows the number of candidates who have taken more than 10 attempts at the car practical driving test and passed on their final attempt at Southend-on-Sea (Prittlewell Chase), Southend-on-Sea (Tickfied Centre) and Basildon driving test centres (DTC) between April 2004 and December 2012.

What are the top five attempts at these three centres and did they pass or fail. This should include attempts at other centres, but the last attempt should have taken place at one of the named centres.

Please find attached at Annex A the top 5 number of attempts at the car practical driving test at Southend-on-Sea (Prittlewell Chase), Southend-on-Sea (Tickfied Centre) and Basildon DTCs between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012. This information is broken down by number of attempts, the result of their latest test, the candidates gender, the year in which their latest test was taken and the age of the candidate at their latest test.
This information includes attempts taken at other centres but the last attempt was taken place at one of the named centres.
5. Request 3
How many cases of suspected identity fraud or ‘candidate impersonations’ have there been at each of the centres since 2007?

Our records show that between 1 April 2007 and 16 April 2013 there has been one case of candidate impersonation on a practical driving test at Southend-on-Sea DTC and one case at Basildon DTC.
