This guidance is for current or former postmasters who have legal representation to apply to the Capture Redress Scheme on their behalf.

In order to verify your identity and current address, your legal representative will need to complete a legal representative verification statement.

These are pre-written statements that your legal representative will use, depending on the circumstances. They must copy the relevant statement to a signed letter, using business letterhead. The letter must state whether your legal representative is a:

  • Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales
  • Solicitor, Scotland
  • Solicitor, Northern Ireland
