Details

A request for information was made about the removal of mandatory policy for handling canine fatalities. Particularly, the annual number of canine fatalities handled by the Highways Agency and its contractors since the year 2000 when the mandatory policy started; the annual number of canine fatalities in that period which were handled according to the guidelines; and the cost of handling a fatality.

In response, the Highways Agency was unable to provide figures for the annual numbers of canine fatalities and provided a web link to a similar FOI response on GOV.UK.
