The disciplinary and sanctions procedure explains how the Building Safety Regulator, will: 

  • determine whether a registered building inspector (RBI) is guilty of professional misconduct 

  • determine whether a registered building control approver (RBCA) has contravened the professional conduct rules 

  • determine whether sanctions are appropriate and what level they should be

This procedure applies to RBIs and RBCAs in both England and Wales.
