The British High Commission Accra is inviting proposals for projects to be funded under its Bilateral Programme Budget (BPB).

Bilateral Programme Budget 2014/2015

The Bilateral Programme Budget (BPB) is used to help the British High Commission Accra achieve the strategic priorities of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Ghana.

Our Previous Funding Activities During the financial year 2013-14, the British High Commission Accra provided funding to several civil societies organisations on a range of projects including: Efforts to strengthen political stability in some regions in Ghana, promoting transparency and Accountability the Local Level, engaging citizens and political stakeholders on constitutional reforms.

What kind of projects are we looking for this year?

We are looking for project proposals in the following areas:

  • Promoting Political Participation

  • Promoting Democratic Values

  • Anti-Corruption

Let us know your ideas on the themes above – we are keen to hear about what projects you have in mind. If you wish to apply for funding from us, please send a proposal using the correct form and send to this email address:

Please note that there are three different forms, one for projects under £5000, one for projects under £10,000 and one for projects between £10,000- £80,000. Please ensure you complete all required sections of the form properly as incomplete proposal forms will be rejected.

Please also ensure that you complete an activity based budget (in excel) which will explain how much money is required and how the money will be spent and send alongside your proposal.
We are keen to provide funding for projects with a budget of up to £10,000. Projects above this limit are not ruled out, but will be funded if there is a compelling reason for it.

We will review your proposal and inform you if you are successful or not.

We will then put in place with you the arrangements for the disbursement of funds and the monitoring and evaluation of the project. These arrangements will include submitting quarterly project and financial reports during the implementation of your project, and a final report at the project’s completion. Kindly note that you will need to pre-fund your project activities. Full payment for the project cost will be made in arrears. We are only able to provide an advance payment of up to 25% of the total project budget only under exceptional circumstances.

Deadline for submission of proposals is Wednesday, 30th April, 2014.
