Details of the application
Balfour Beatty Civils Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from Waveney and East Suffolk Chalk & Crag at one construction site near Benacre, Suffolk to transfer it to a tributary of Hundred River at northeast of Benacre without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

100.8 cubic metres an hour

2,419.20 cubic metres a day

883,008 cubic metres a year

between 9 July 2026 and 1 June 2028.
This abstraction will only take place when there is a need to dewater excavations.
The associated discharge permit application reference is EPR/WP3728MQ/A001.
