This report presents years 2 and 3 of the 3-year attendance mentor intervention.

Year 1 findings are also available.

The year 2 and 3 evaluation aimed to show:

• how the intervention has been implemented and examine any barriers or enablers to the implementation of the intervention
• why and how the intervention achieved its outcomes of interest across different pupil contexts
• to what extent the intervention improved school attendance for children and  young people (CYP)

Findings will  add to the evidence base on what works for improving attendance. It will help to inform similar programmes such as Attendance Mentoring.

   Updated delivery figures to reflect revised totals (year 1 delivery increased from 223 to 261 and overall delivery increased from 1,660 to 1,698), confirming that Barnardo’s met delivery targets. References to targets not met have been removed.
