An application has been made to the Environment Agency by Aston Manor Brewery Limited. The Environment Agency are required to give notice of this application.

The application is for a full licence to abstract (take) water from the River Severn at National Grid Reference (NGR) SO 81861 69652.

The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates and periods:

  • 370.83 cubic metres an hour
  • 8,900 cubic metres a day
  • 3,247,780 cubic metres a year

between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for wash water and non-evaporative cooling. The quantities proposed for non-evaporative cooling are 3,241,200 cubic metres per year and 8,880 cubic metres per day and will be returned to the River Severn immediately downstream of the abstraction point. The remaining quantities for wash water will be discharged via a foul sewer.
