Details

The Asset Protection Agency (APA) was an executive arm of HM Treasury which closed on 31 October 2012.

The Agency was run by Chief Executive Stephan Wilcke from 7 December 2009 to 6 October 2011 and then by Chief Executive Bill Dickinson to 31 October 2012.

The Agency’s purpose was to operate the Asset Protection Scheme (APS). The APS was established during the financial crisis to improve confidence and restrict bank losses, so as to enable a financial sector recovery.
