Details

Guidance on Ministry of Justice arms length bodies spending over £25,000 data 2012.

HM Treasury (HMT) require that all central government departments publish monthly data of their spend transactions over £25k by the end of the following month.

HMT have set out a format to ensure the data is consistent across Government, this format is set out in the field definition guidance.

The Ministry of Justice was formed in May 2007 by joining the Department for Constitutional Affairs with parts of the Home Office, including the National Offender Management Service (NOMS). As a result, NOMS currently uses a separate finance system called Phoenix.

Transparency data for arms length bodies are either included in the Ministry of Justice or NOMS datasets, or taken from their own accounting systems.

As required by HMT, the data relates to accounts payable payment and credit note transactions for grants and procurement spend, recorded at the time the transaction was processed. The data excludes any subsequent journal transactions (e.g. to make corrections) and accounts receivable receipts.

We do not publish everything and HMT lists transactions not to be included in their Guidance on Data Inclusions and Redactions.
