Apply to become an AI Factory Antenna: clarification questions

Updated 4 June 2025

Can an entity coordinate one proposal and be a partner in another consortium?

Answer: Yes, it is possible for one site to coordinate their own proposal and participate in another consortium.

The EoI site mentions “The research organisation or consortia of organisations may also contribute up to approximately. £1.8 million of their own resource, to be match funded by the EuroHPC granting authority.” Are there any constraints on what we are allowed to include within our own contributions? It’d be useful to know what evidence of in-kind financial contributions will be required.

Answer: The EuroHPC Joint Undertaking governing board will make the decision on match funding. The EOI question on financial and in-kind resources that the host entity may be able to contribute is aimed at understanding how the host entity may contribute to the AI Factory to ensure access, and the resources the host entity can put in place to ensure the Antenna functions effectively in serving UK stakeholders and users. We recommend discussing with the linked AI Factory how contributions (including any in-kind) can help gain greater access to their system.
