Anglian Water Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number AN/031/0009/001 which authorises the abstraction of water from The River Welland at National Grid Reference TF 01 06 for transfer to the Stamford Mill Stream to maintain a flow for environmental and amenity purposes.

The variation applied for is to increase the instantaneous, hourly and annual abstraction rates as follows: from 26 litres per second to 34 litres per second, 90 cubic metres per hour to 123 cubic metres per hour and 200,000 cubic metres per year to 447,000 cubic metres per year. Daily abstraction rate will remain unchanged (2,160 cubic metres per day).
