Phase One of the Triples Review: Statement on the scope of Phase One

Updated 11 August 2025

The Triples Review was announced by the former government on 1 February 2024.

The scope of Phase One involved the reassessment of “ineligible” decisions made on applications who had previously been referred to UKSF. This included those who claimed to either be a member of a UKSF Afghan Partner Force or to have had links to a UKSF Afghan Partner Force. It also included a small number of applications that had been erroneously referred to UKSF at the time.

Casework within Phase One is now complete, and all individuals whose applications were reviewed under Phase One are being notified of the outcome of the review.

On 16 May 2025, the current government announced Phase Two of the Triples Review to build further on the work completed under the previous administration.  The terms of reference, including the scope for Phase Two, were published shortly after the announcement on GOV.UK and are available at Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy.
