We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following:
1. How many serious incidents of near deaths of children within the UKBA
detention estate and escorts (as defined in Detention Service Order 17/2007 Reporting Incidents of Near Death) were there in each of the years - 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010?
2. How many incidents of deaths of children within the UKBA detention estate
and escorts were there in each of the years - 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010?”
We released the following information on: 21 April 2011.
There have been no incidents of near deaths of children within the UKBA detention estate and under escort between 2007 and 2010.
No children have died within the UKBA detention estate and under escort during the same period.
