The applicant asked whether any of the 47 UK police forces had purchased weaponry from the American catalogue www.amazing1.com.
We released the following information on 27th October 2010:
The Home Office does not hold this information. However, any purchase of less lethal weaponry is covered by the Home Office codes of practice on the use of firearms and less lethal technologies. If any force has purchased any of the equipment that is contained on this website its utility for policing is clearly limited. Additionally, the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) or individual police forces will usually contact HOSDB regarding any new technologies and we have had no inquiries regarding equipment such as that detailed on the website.
