Biography

Tom Brewer was appointed as DVLA Interim Chief Digital and Technology Officer in June 2026.

Education

Tom has an MSc in eCommerce Technology from Swansea University, and a first class BSc in Computer Science from the University of Wales.

Career

Tom has more than 15 years’ experience leading technology at a senior level, with a successful track record of delivering digital channel shift and business transformation in both private and public sectors. He’s worked for several major organisations in the education, legal and fashion retail sectors.

Chief Digital and Technology Officer

The Chief Digital and Technology Officer has overall responsibility for IT strategy, services and change delivery. This includes running day-to-day IT operations for internal business systems and external customer-facing digital services.

They provide leadership and senior level advocacy for digital transformation to support DVLA strategic ambitions. The Chief Digital and Technology Officer also leads the development of DVLA’s long-term digital and technology strategy and Centre of Digital Excellence, championing the growth of digital skills and talent across the agency.
