Teresa Stanley

Biography

Teresa Stanley was appointed Chief People Officer in July 2023.

Teresa has a wide range of experience in Human Resources (HR), which includes working with the police force as well as within academia. She joined Dstl as a part-time project manager in June 2005, before spending 12 years building up her extensive experience and then going on to be Head of HR for another civil service executive agency for a year. Here, she ran the HR function whilst developing the People workstream of their Transformation programme.

Teresa returned to Dstl and became Head of HR in September 2019.

She is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel Development with an MSc in Strategic Human Resource Management.

Chief People Officer

The Chief People Officer provides strategic ‘people’ advice to underpin strategic aims and policies, and defines leadership and people management required to ensure effective delivery of Dstl’s strategic aims.

The Chief People Office leads Dstl People, which includes talent acquisition and planning, science and technology careers, employee relations, organisational development, HR business partnering and employee experience. It also includes Dstl’s communications function, which enables Dstl to create maximum impact through connecting with our key audiences.
