Biography
Sunny has been Consul General in Melbourne since January 2026.
This followed a short stint covering the Political Councillor role in Canberra.
Previously she was Development Director in Moldova (also covering Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia). Prior to this she was the Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Kuwait. Her previous roles include: Head of Partnering and Engagement for UKHO in Washington DC (covering 20 countries in the region and an embed at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency); In Baghdad Sunny was responsible for tribal engagement in ISIS affected areas; Head of Security Sector and Justice Reform in Bahrain and Deputy High Commissioner in Brunei. She was also posted to Syria and undertook full time Arabic language training in Amman.
Before joining the FCDO, Sunny worked for the National Health Service as a Senior Specialist Case Manager, Chairing Health, Education and Social Services Coordination meetings for Children with complex needs. She started her career as Manager of Volunteers and Health Research lead for a Barnardo’s the Children’s Charity.
Sunny is accredited by the Institute of Leadership Management as an Executive Coach.
