Sarah Clifford

Biography
As Executive Director for Strategy and Impact, Sarah is responsible for organisational performance and intelligence, strategy, engagement and communications and for supporting DBS’ strategic safeguarding function. Prior to this she also held responsibility for transformation, facilities, assurance and risk, having joined DBS in 2021 as Associate Director of Strategy and Business Development overseeing policy, planning, inclusion and engagement. Previously she has worked in Director/senior roles for various government bodies and charities in a range of areas including child and adult disability, conservation, police complaints and prison monitoring.
Executive Director of Strategy and Impact
The Executive Director of Strategy and Impact provides inspirational leadership of the development and delivery of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) strategy, policy, performance management and insight functions.
With overall responsibility for business planning, partnerships and communications, the Executive Director works closely with the Chief Executive, the Executive and the Board to translate DBS’ strategic vision into operational delivery.
