Ross Matthews

Biography

Ross Matthews was the Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Lisbon between May 2018 and July 2023.

Before coming to Portugal he was Head of the NATO Section at the Foreign Office. Previous postings overseas include as First Secretary at the British Embassy in Argentina and as Second Secretary at the British High Commission in Cameroon (covering Chad and Central African Republic).

Ross Matthews has a degree in French and Economics (BA Honours) from the University of Lancaster. He is married with two daughters.
