Rory Gribbell
Biography
Rory Gribbell joined Ofsted in January 2024 as Lead Adviser to His Majesty’s Chief Inspector, taking up his role as Director of Strategy and Engagement in February 2024.
Previously, Rory worked in No.10 as a policy adviser to the Prime Minister and in various roles within the Department for Education as an adviser to Secretaries of State and Ministers.
Earlier in his career, he qualified as a maths teacher through the Teach First programme.
Director, Strategy and Engagement
The Director, Strategy and Engagement oversees the development and implementation of Ofsted’s strategic priorities. He is accountable to the Ofsted Board for the delivery of strategic objectives.
The Director, Strategy and Engagement also leads on Ofsted’s engagement with senior stakeholders, cross-government relationships, academics and policy makers to make sure the way Ofsted works is informed by their evidence.
The Director manages Ofsted’s communications and legal functions, ensuring that Ofsted is transparent and accountable, and works within the powers given to it by Parliament.
