Robert Fitzpatrick
Biography
Robert (Rob) Fitzpatrick is British Consul General in Calgary, Canada. Prior to taking up his current role, Rob was Deputy High Commissioner at the British High Commission in Yaounde, Cameroon.
Rob joined the Diplomatic Service in 2008. He has also served as a Political Officer at the British Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan and as Head of Communications at the British High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria. In the UK his roles have included positions in the FCDO’s Multilateral Policy Directorate, Counter Terrorism Department, Africa Directorate and as a Team Leader in Afghanistan and Pakistan Directorate. He is a Team Leader within the FCDO’s Rapid Deployment Team and has deployed to several crises.
Originally from Stockport, Greater Manchester, Rob now calls Shrewsbury, Shropshire home. He holds an LLB in Law and is an advocate for social mobility. He tries to speak French and is joined in Canada by his wife and two daughters.
