Sir Robert Devereux KCB

Biography

Robert Devereux rejoined the Department for Work and Pensions as Permanent Secretary on 1 January 2011, having previously spent 4 years with the Department of Social Security, and 2 years with DWP when it was first created in 2001.

Robert’s career has included time spent in:

  • the Overseas Development Administration
  • HM Treasury
  • Guinness Brewing Worldwide, on secondment
  • the Department for Transport, which he joined in 2003 and where he became Permanent Secretary in 2007
