Biography

Richard joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1996 and has served overseas in Zimbabwe, Australia and Brazil.

He has also been Head of Crisis Management Department at the FCO and most recently, Head of Security Policy Department at the FCO.

Mr Lindsay is married to Xanthe, and they have three teenage children.

The High Commissioner is the UK government’s representative in a Commonwealth nation. They are responsible for the direction and work of the High Commission and its Deputy High Commissions and/or Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
