Aelod y Bwrdd dros Gymru a Chadeirydd Pwyllgor Cynghori ar Fwyd Cymru
Ymunodd Rhian ag AberInnovation fel Prif Weithredwr ym mis Ionawr 2017, gan arwain y gwaith o adeiladu’r Campws Arloesedd gwerth £40.5 miliwn a’r mentrau sy’n cefnogi twf busnesau biowyddoniaeth cyfnod cynnar. Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn, mae Rhian wedi bod yn Is-Gadeirydd Cymdeithas Parciau Gwyddoniaeth y DU, wedi gweithio mewn swyddi cyhoeddus i Lywodraeth Cymru, gan gynnwys gwasanaethu ar Fwrdd Datblygu Diwydiannol Cymru a Bwrdd y Diwydiant Bwyd a Diod ac wedi dod yn un o Gymrodorion Sefydliad y Cyfarwyddwr.
Mae ymrwymiad Rhian i wyddoniaeth ac arloesi yn parhau, ar ôl sawl rôl ym maes masnacheiddio technolegau gwyddor bywyd, a hynny yn y sector preifat a’r sector cyhoeddus. Ymhlith y rhain, mae Rhian wedi sefydlu busnes ymgynghori i gynorthwyo buddsoddwyr gyda’r gwaith diwydrwydd dyladwy mewn perthynas â busnesau sy’n seiliedig ar dechnoleg, gweithio mewn rolau marchnata a datblygu busnes mewn cwmnïau biotechnoleg (gan gynnwys Abcam plc) a gweithio mewn rolau trosglwyddo technoleg yn y sector Addysg Uwch.
Mae ganddi DPhil mewn epidemioleg clefydau heintus o Brifysgol Rhydychen a BSc dosbarth cyntaf o Goleg y Brenin Llundain. Derbyniodd Rhian yr MBE am wasanaethau i Entrepreneuriaeth yng Nghymru yn Rhestr Anrhydeddau Pen-blwydd y Frenhines yn 2016.
Gyfarwyddwr Anweithredol
As a member of the Wales Office Departmental Board, Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC) and Outcome Delivery Plan (ODP) Implementation Committee, the Non-Executive Director supports the Lead Non-Executive in ensuring the effective and successful governance of the Department by:
- Ensuring the Departmental Board and ARAC define the vision, values, culture and strategy of the organisation and set a high standard for ethics and responsible conduct of public business.
- Ensuring the Departmental Board and ARAC maintain appropriate governance and internal controls, including ensuring sound financial, risk and performance management regimes are in place and the Department has the capacity to deliver.
- Actively challenging the Board on key issues including the Business Plan and Strategic Risks.
- Monitoring the delivery of the Department’s ODP through being a member of the ODP Implementation Committee.

Ensuring the Department’s Senior Management Team is subjected to constructive challenge in respect of the performance of the organisation; and
- Providing counsel, advice, and support to the Secretary of State for Wales and the executive team, acting as a sounding board and “critical friend” where necessary.
