Rebecca Fabrizi
Biography
Rebecca Fabrizi is the British Ambassador to South Sudan. She took up her appointment in October 2026.
Prior to this appointment, she was the Acting High Commissioner at the British High Commission in Malawi from July to December 2025.
Before that, Rebecca was the UK Special Envoy for Small Island Developing States, leading the development of partnerships, policies and programmes to address the unique vulnerabilities of SIDS and support them to achieve sustainable resilience. She was also the lead for bilateral relationships between the UK and Caribbean countries. In her diplomatic career so far, Rebecca has enjoyed postings in Beijing, Rome, Belgrade and at the United Nations and WTO in Geneva. She has also worked for the European Union in Brussels and as an academic at the Australian National University.

The Ambassador represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the embassy and its consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
