Peter Clements

Biography

Peter was Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Lima from April 2021 to June 2022.

He joined the Foreign Office in 2011 after working for several years in the Northern Ireland Office and the UK Border Agency. He was the Deputy Head of Falklands and Southern Oceans Department, before becoming the first Head of Operations in the Diplomatic Academy. He became Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Croatia from 2016 to 2020 before taking up his current role as Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General to Peru in 2021.

His experience includes policy making and strategy, public diplomacy, leadership and development, and speechwriting. He speaks Spanish, Croatian and some French.
