Director of Inspections and Enforcement

Pete Easterbrook

Biography

Having undertaken the role on an interim basis since February 2025, Pete was appointed Executive Director of Inspections and Enforcement in December 2025.

Career

Pete joined the SIA in 2010 following a successful career in UK policing, where he specialised in forensic services and supported a number of major investigations.

He began his time at the SIA as an investigator for Scotland and Northern Ireland, supporting the SIA’s approach to compliance across the region and contributing to the delivery of large-scale national events including the G8 Summit in Northern Ireland and the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. He later became the first member of SIA staff to be embedded at the Scottish Crime Campus, working in partnership with Police Scotland, HMRC, the Crown Office and the National Crime Agency to disrupt organised crime groups impacting the private security industry.

Pete subsequently moved to manage the SIA’s Criminal Enforcement teams, before being promoted to Head of Criminal Enforcement. In this role, he co-authored the organisation’s Compliance, Supervision and Enforcement Strategy – the first strategic redesign of its kind since 2008 – which set the framework for a major shift in regulatory approach. He also oversaw enhancement of the SIA’s financial investigation capability, leading to significant public protection outcomes and the recovery of criminal proceeds.

As Executive Director for Inspections and Enforcement, Pete provides strategic leadership to our intelligence and reporting function, as well as our frontline operational teams across the UK – including compliance and inspections as well as our criminal and financial investigations units.
