Agnes Annells
Biography
Agnes Annells joined the FCDO in 2007. She has worked on the Western Balkans, including working on Kosovo from 2008 to 2010, human rights, economic development and multilateral diplomacy and completed postings in Mexico and Peru. Most recently she had responsibility for the UK’s relationships with UN Development Funds and Programmes.
Deputy Head of Mission, Kosovo
The deputy head of mission is a senior diplomat and typically a key adviser to the ambassador or high commissioner. The deputy is responsible for the daily management of an overseas embassy or high commission. They will represent the UK’s interests in the absence of the ambassador as chargé d’affaires. A senior ranking deputy may also take the title minister. Smaller missions may not have a deputy head.
