Nick Donlevy

Biography

Nick is Director General Chief Operating Officer at the MoJ. He joined the MoJ in May 2026.

A career civil servant, Nick has held a wide range of senior policy and finance roles across government, including as Director for Public Spending at HM Treasury (2022–2025), where he led the government’s strategic approach to public spending, including leading Spending Review 2025, and oversaw policy on public sector pay and pensions. He has also held Senior Civil Service roles in the Department of Health and Social Care, the Cabinet Office, the Royal Navy and the Ministry of Defence.

Nick is a qualified accountant and lives in Bedfordshire with his wife and two young sons.
