Neil Greenwood

Biography

Neil was appointed National Director, Digital and Operations in April 2025. Neil first became a civil servant on joining Ofsted in March 2000 and has worked in a number of different Ofsted teams, including policy, complaints and information management. He became Private Secretary to the Chief Inspector in 2006 before taking leadership roles in relation to communications, strategy, data, research and operations. For the last few years he has been responsible for Ofsted’s digital and technology teams and, since 2023, for the operational teams supporting all of Ofsted’s inspection and regulatory activity.

National Director, Digital and Operations

The National Director, Digital and Operations is responsible for leading and managing the delivery of Ofsted’s digital and technology services to make sure they meet the needs of internal and external users. They are also responsible for Ofsted’s operational support services.
