Monojit Chatterji

Biography

Monojit is an established academic with an international profile. He is currently an Honorary Professor of Economics at Heriot Watt University and Emeritus Professor of Applied Economics, University of Dundee. He is also a Bye Fellow and Director of Studies in Economics at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and Bye Fellow at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. This follows stints as Fellow and Director of Studies in Economics at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and previously at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.

He has considerable public policy experience in the UK with the School Teachers’ Review Body, Welsh Remuneration Board and Speaker’s Committee for IPSA, as well as chairing the National Joint Council of the Fire Service. He serves on the Board of Trustees at the National Museums of Scotland and on the Board of RISE - a charity that supports refugees.

NCARRB Member

Members of the National Crime Agency Remuneration Review Body are responsible for:

  • making recommendations on the pay and allowances of National Crime Agency (NCA) officers designated with operational powers
  • considering written evidence from the Home Office, the NCA, trades unions and other interested parties
  • conducting research on pay and related matters
  • visiting the NCA to meet NCA officers with operational powers and management to gather information and views on pay and related issues

The member of the PRRB is responsible for providing independent advice to the government on pay and conditions for police officers at or below the rank of chief superintendent in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
