Biography
Mel Lawrance has served as Deputy Consul General to New York since September 2025. Prior to that, she was Deputy Head of the Gulf Department at the Foreign Office and Political Counsellor at the British Embassy in Ankara. She has also served in Thailand, Pakistan and Iraq, and worked in the private sector in energy and investment banking.
