Mark Hoble JP
Biography
Mark became Chair of the Review Body on Doctors’ and Dentists’ Remuneration in 2025 after five years as a member of the Police and National Crime Agency Pay Review Body. He has served on various pay and HR bodies, including the Ministry of Justice’s Advisory Committee for magistrate recruitment and Oxfam’s Remuneration Committee. Formerly a Partner at Mercer, Mark led its European Executive Compensation practice and advised on board-level pay, governance, and M&A. He is also a London magistrate.
Mark holds a degree in Economics (University of Nottingham), an MBA (London Business School), and a Diploma in Criminology (Birkbeck, University of London).

DDRB Chair
The Chair of the Review Body on Doctors’ and Dentists’ Remuneration is independent. Its role is to make recommendations to the Prime Minister, the Secretary of State for Health, the First Minister and the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing of the Scottish Parliament, the First Minister and the Minister for Health and Social Services in the Welsh Assembly Government and the First Minister, Deputy First Minister and Minister for Health, Social Services and Public Safety of the Northern Ireland Executive on the remuneration of doctors and dentists taking any part in the National Health Service.
PRRB Member
The member of the PRRB is responsible for providing independent advice to the government on pay and conditions for police officers at or below the rank of chief superintendent in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
NCARRB Member
Members of the National Crime Agency Remuneration Review Body are responsible for:
- making recommendations on the pay and allowances of National Crime Agency (NCA) officers designated with operational powers
- considering written evidence from the Home Office, the NCA, trades unions and other interested parties
- conducting research on pay and related matters
- visiting the NCA to meet NCA officers with operational powers and management to gather information and views on pay and related issues
