Mark Adam

Biography

Mark has worked at the Ministry of Justice since early 2016, whilst within the department he has driven many of the department’s HR led programmes from restructuring to service improvement, including driving recruitment to fulfil our Ministerial Commitments to effectively staff prisons and increase officer numbers. In 2019 Mark took on the role of HR Director for HMPPS and in April 2021 further expanded his portfolio to become the MoJ’s Chief People Officer.

Human Resources, Organisational Transformation and Project Delivery have been the anchors of over 20 years of Mark’s career, spanning both public and private sector. This included starting his career in the then Civil Service College / Cabinet Office and then working in consultancy on innovation and change. Prior to joining the MoJ, Mark spent four years working as a Transformation Director for the Northern Ireland Strategic Investment Board and worked on some of the post Good Friday Justice reforms across Courts, Prisons, Probation and Policing.
