Louise Grainger

Biography
Louise Grainger was appointed as Chief Financial Officer on 1 September 2024. Since joining Ofsted in August 2009, Louise has held various roles including Financial Controller, Deputy Director Finance and Planning, and Director Finance, Property and Commercial. Louise is a qualified accountant and, before joining Ofsted, spent 13 years in local government in a range of finance related roles.
Chief Financial Officer
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic financial leadership within Ofsted and in its interactions with the rest of the government. The CFO oversees Ofsted’s budget and serves as His Majesty’s Chief Inspector’s key adviser on public finances, taking responsibility for all aspects of finance. This includes leading financial planning, reporting, and compliance to ensure value for money and effective resource use. Additionally, the CFO manages property and commercial services within Ofsted.
