Lisa Weedon
Biography
Lisa Weedon is currently the Acting High Commissioner to South Africa; she arrived in November 2024 to take up her role as Deputy High Commissioner.
Lisa has served in a number of diplomatic roles. These include Deputy Consul General Sao Paulo & Minister Counsellor Trade & Prosperity for Brazil. Prior to this she was Deputy Director International Strategy at the Department for Business and Trade where she led the Department’s international engagement strategy for Africa and the Americas. Lisa has also completed diplomatic postings in Indonesia and Myanmar and worked as Senior Private Secretary to the Minister for Trade.
Lisa has previously lived in Johannesburg whilst accompanying her husband on a diplomatic posting. She used this time to take a break from the ‘day job’ and worked at the Johannesburg Children’s Home. Lisa is married and has one son.
