Libby Green

Biography
Libby Green has been His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Ecuador since September 2025.
Libby has been in the Diplomatic Service since 2001. She has extensive experience across a range of diplomatic, media, security, climate, energy and health roles. Her earlier roles overseas include New Delhi, Beijing and Copenhagen (as Deputy Head of Mission). Libby has also held a range of positions in the UK, including as Deputy Head of Department Asia Pacific Directorate. Libby was also seconded to the Department of Health from 2015 to 2017.
Libby holds an MA in English Literature from Pembroke College, University of Cambridge.

British Ambassador to Ecuador
The Ambassador represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
