Laura Gibb

Biography
Laura joined the SIA in January 2026 as Executive Director for Martyn’s Law.
Career
Prior to joining the SIA, Laura held the office of Secretary to the Angiolini Inquiry, an independent public inquiry established following the murder of Sarah Everard by an off-duty police officer. She worked with families bereaved by femicide, policing stakeholders, and government organisations to take evidence and make recommendations which are designed to help drive meaningful and lasting change.
Laura has previously worked at His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services designing, building, and operating inspection regimes, for policing and fire and rescue services. She has also held a range of other senior roles across government. Overall she has over 22 years of public service experience in work that has consistently focused on improving public safety including resilience, emergency planning and responses and policing.
