Jonathan Lupton

Biography

Jonathan qualified as a solicitor in 1999 following the completion of a training contract at a specialist firm of solicitors and licenced insolvency practitioners in Yorkshire.

Jonathan has specialised in personal and corporate insolvency his entire career, and after passing the JIEB exam he obtained a licence to act as an Insolvency Practitioner in 2004, with which he held a number of personal and corporate insolvency officeholder appointments

Between 2010 and 2016 Jonathan was a partner in a South Coast firm of solicitors where he headed up their Insolvency and Business Recovery Team, as well as undertaking a stint as Training Partner.

In January 2019, after two years as a Senior Associate Director at a leading Insolvency Litigation Funding Company, Jonathan joined the Insolvency Service as a Senior Lawyer in order to help develop its in-house Civil Litigation function.

Director of Legal Services

The Legal Services Director is a member of the Insolvency Service Executive Leadership Team and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. They are responsible for the agency’s legal enforcement functions, including criminal prosecution and civil litigation functions
