John Lindfield MBE
Biography
John Lindfield took up his position as British High Commissioner to the Kingdom of Eswatini in July 2019.
Before taking up his new position John oversaw business operations throughout Russia for the Department for International Trade (DIT), the UK government’s international business development arm from 2015 to 2019. From 2010 to 2014, John was Consular Regional Director based in Amsterdam, managing all consular services resource in 20 countries across Northern and Western Europe.
Earlier in his career John was Regional Director for UKTI (DIT) based in New York, with responsibility for business operations throughout the eastern US states for UK Trade & Investment, overseeing large specialist sector teams in Boston, New York and Washington, and also led the Regional Inward Investment Team in San Francisco, assisting UK’s existing inward investors such as Cisco, HP, Microsoft etc. while also identifying new investment projects in the Bay Area and the Pacific North West.
Before that John completed tours of duty on behalf of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in South Africa, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
