John Leyland
Biography
John Leyland was appointed Executive Director for Environment and Business at the Environment Agency (EA) on 17 October 2022.
He was previously Chief of Staff at the EA from 2016 to 2022. Before that he was Area Manager for the EA’s Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire area. He has worked at the EA since 2012.
John has 20 years’ experience in the retail telecommunications sector at executive committee and board level.
Executive Director of Environment and Business
The Executive Director is responsible for the Environment Agency’s approach to water quality, water resources, industry regulation, land management, climate change adaptation and sustainable development.
