Jo Lomas

Biography

Jo Lomas assumed her duties as HMA Tallinn on 11 August 2026

Jo Lomas was the UK government’s Envoy to the Commonwealth from October 2021 to May 2025. Jo was previously High Commissioner to the Republic of Rwanda, and non-resident Ambassador to Burundi from January 2018 to June 2021.

Jo holds a BSc degree in political sciences from the University of Bristol and a Post Graduate Diploma in business studies from the Open University.

The Ambassador represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
