Jerome Glass CB
Biography
Jerome Glass is the Director General of the Future Civil Service at the Cabinet Office, bringing together Civil Service Reform and the Government People Function as the Government’s Chief People Officer.
Prior to this, he served as Chief Operating Officer at the Home Office from June 2025 until April 2026.
Jerome has held numerous senior roles across government, including Director General for the Ministry of Justice’s (MOJ) Policy and Strategy Group from November 2020 to June 2025. Having joined the MOJ in 2016, his positions included Principal Private Secretary to the Lord Chancellor, Director of Strategy, and Director of Prison Policy
Jerome previously worked at the Department of Energy and Climate Change, where he led on domestic climate change strategy. His career also includes experience in finance and operations at the BBC, and in investment banking at Lazard & Co.
