Jeremy Moore
Biography
Jeremy Moore was a career civil servant until his retirement in 2017. During that time, he worked at the Economic and Social Research Council, the Department for Education, HM Treasury and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). His final role before retiring was as Director-General for policy at the DWP, covering the full range of the department’s policy responsibilities.
He was a non-executive director of the Student Loans Company for 4 years.
Jeremy was made a Companion of the Bath in 2016. After retiring from public service, he took on various non executive roles. He joined the board of the Learning and Work Institute (LWI) where he is currently chair. He served on the board of the Shaw Trust for 4 years from 2019. He was chair of BPDTS Ltd from January 2019 to July 2021. BPDTS Ltd was set up to provide specialist digital technology services to DWP. It became part of DWP in July 2021.
In 2025, Jeremy joined the advisory panel for the Independent Review of Carer’s Allowance overpayments, to support the Independent Reviewer by providing advice and acting as a critical friend to the review.
