Jemima Gordon-Duff
Biography
Jemima Gordon-Duff became His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in August 2026.
Jemima joined the FCO in 2003. She has served overseas in Kathmandu, Quito, Islamabad, Maputo, Jerusalem and Accra, working on political affairs, governance, security, human rights and international development.
In London, she was Head of Human Rights and Democracy in the Human Rights Department. Most recently, she served as Deputy Director for International Climate Change at the Scottish Government from 2022 to 2025.

The Ambassador represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
