Jeff Glekin

Biography

Jeff Glekin was appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Plurinational State of Bolivia from January 2019 to August 2023. Previously he was Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Bogota.

Jeff spent 4 years as Deputy Head of Commercial and Economic Diplomacy Department in London and was also Deputy Head of Mission in Mumbai from 2007 to 2011.

He was the India columnist for Reuters Breakingviews and has been published in the New York Times, International Herald Tribune, El País and the Globe and Mail.

Before joining the FCDO he spent four years in HM Treasury. He has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

British High Commissioner to Seychelles

The High Commissioner is the UK government’s representative in a Commonwealth nation. They are responsible for the direction and work of the High Commission and its Deputy High Commissions and/or Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
