Jason Field
Biography
Jason was appointed Director for National Biosecurity Centre, Weybridge, in April 2026.
He joined APHA in September 2025 as the Director of Science Operations and Research at the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
Jason previously worked at the Ministry of Defence as Head of Commissioning for the UK Defence Science and Technology. He held a similar role at the Home Office where he established a new science commissioning function.
His career in government has focused on science and technology, operational analysis and project management; encouraging cross-government sharing of science and technology.
Director for National Biosecurity Centre, Weybridge
This director leads on the science specifications for the new biocontainment animal and laboratory facilities as part of the APHA Weybridge site redevelopment.
